What is SCM about?
SCM is a student led group of Christians. We believe in sharing fellowship, worshipping God in both familiar and new ways, and we seek to bring together all denominations to explore the Christian faith in an open-minded and non-judgmental environment. We don’t always come up with all the answers, but we try to learn from each other! We also benifit from being a smaller group, and frequently follow meetings with time out in the pubs of Broomhill and organise occasional retreats and trips out of the city.
Our mission statement:
SCM is:
Inclusive - all people are welcome because our diversity is a gift to be celebrated.
Aware - we recognise the importance of respect for and openness to other faiths.
Radical - faith and social justice cannot be separated - Christians must be equipped to engage with contemporary theological, political and social issues.
Challenging - thinking through and questioning our faith ensures that it remains alive and dynamic.
Sheffield SCM is affiliated to National SCM.
